
A workplace accident at the Chirmiri open cast coal mine in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district of Chhattisgarh resulted in injuries to three workers, including two women. The incident, which took place Monday afternoon, involved a preparation for a blasting operation. The explosion occurred suddenly, injuring workers engaged in laying explosives and causing damage to vehicles. All three injured individuals were rushed to the Kurasia regional hospital and are said to be in stable condition. Investigators are exploring a possible technical error as the root cause, while a comprehensive probe has been initiated by SECL and local authorities. Safety measures are being re-evaluated at the site, which is approximately 300 kilometers from Raipur.
