Janjgir-Champa district is experiencing significant disruption in revenue services due to an indefinite strike initiated by Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars. The strike is a response to the lack of action on their 17-point demands. The impact is evident across the district, with crucial functions such as court proceedings related to revenue matters, land registration, issuance of essential certificates (income, caste, and domicile), farmer registration, and the operation of the Bhuiyan portal being affected. The public is facing considerable inconvenience as a result of this disruption. Lawyers and other legal professionals are also suffering financial losses. A preliminary one-day strike and protest occurred on July 28th at the district headquarters in Janjgir. A subsequent demonstration in Raipur involving Tehsildars from across the state also failed to yield results. Consequently, the indefinite strike began on July 30th. The continuation of the strike poses a growing risk of exacerbating public hardship.
