Chhattisgarh is set for a substantial infrastructure upgrade following a meeting between Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari. The discussions led to the approval of several essential road projects. The Union Minister instructed officials to expedite financial approvals for ongoing projects valued at over 7000 crore rupees. In addition, 600 crore rupees were approved under the Central Road Fund (CRF). This allocation will enable the construction and improvement of many roads across Chhattisgarh. Key projects include building four major bridges to ease traffic congestion in Raipur, with ground-breaking ceremonies planned soon. Roads from Raipur to other districts will be expanded from two to four lanes, enhancing traffic flow and safety. The state will now use the ‘Gati Shakti Portal’ for road planning to get quicker approvals. A DPR is to be prepared soon for a six-lane road (95 km) that will connect Raipur-Arang-Bilaspur-Darri, which will benefit industrial, agricultural, and educational sectors. The Samriddhi Expressway is also planned to be extended to Raipur.
