Authorities in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, have suspended a primary school headmaster following accusations of inappropriate conduct with female students. The headmaster is accused of showing obscene images and engaging in inappropriate physical behavior. The matter was brought to the attention of authorities when students expressed their unwillingness to attend school and informed their parents. A parents’ committee meeting on August 6th discussed the issue, and a formal complaint was lodged with the BEO on August 7th. The cluster coordinator then conducted an investigation, and the subsequent report was delivered to the DEO. As a result, the headmaster and an assistant teacher were suspended. The suspended headmaster is named Netram Verma, and the assistant teacher is Prasad Tiwari. Furthermore, a letter was issued to the police requesting that a case be registered. The DEO’s suspension order against the headmaster mentions that he summoned students to his office, displayed obscene photos on his phone, engaged in inappropriate physical contact, and committed obscene acts, thus violating school conduct rules. He has been attached to the BEO Dongargarh. The assistant teacher, Deesam Pramod Tiwari, was also suspended for concealing the actions for several years. The DEO, Prawas Singh Baghel, confirmed that an investigation was conducted following complaints from villagers, leading to the suspension of the headmaster and assistant teacher, and the request for an FIR. The primary school has 70 students, and with the suspension of both teachers, the school is left with no teaching staff.
