Under the Prime Minister’s Grain Agriculture Scheme, a special agricultural camp will be held
The Agriculture Department will conduct awareness camps to expand winter cropping area and improve pulse-oilseed productivity
Raipur, 08 December 2025 / The Prime Minister’s Grain Agriculture Scheme (PMDDKY) 2025.26, launched as a government initiative, aims to increase farmers’ income and agricultural productivity in low-performing agricultural districts by coordinating 36 schemes under 11 ministries. It focuses on irrigation, storage, easy credit, and crop diversification to make farmers self-reliant and support the nation’s mission to become self-sufficient in various crops, including pulses. Under the PM Grain Agriculture Scheme, special training camps are being organized in each committee to acquaint farmers with modern techniques for winter crops and to encourage them towards other agriculture‑related businesses such as fisheries and livestock.
Benefit farmers by linking them with modern agriculture
In the camps, selected outstanding and progressive farmers from Jashpur district are involved as trainers who are using modern technologies to achieve higher production and better income. These trainer farmers will share their experience, challenges, and benefits received from departmental schemes with other farmers, enabling more farmers to adopt modern farming and benefit. Also, officers from the agriculture and related departments will inform farmers about various government schemes, the process of receiving subsidies, and guidance on scientifically managed farming. Scientists from the agricultural science centre and agricultural college will also participate in these camps, promoting modern agricultural technologies and encouraging farmers to adopt advanced farming.
Pulses‑oilseed growers can sell produce at support price
In Jashpur district, a total of 09 tribal service cooperative committees have been registered, where farmers growing pulses‑oilseed crops can sell their urad, moong, and groundnut at the minimum support price in case of market price decline. In the farmers’ interest, the administration urges them to register on the Unified Farmer Portal. For assistance in registration, farmers can contact the relevant rural agricultural extension officer.
Farmers can increase their income by joining Farmer Producer Organization
During the camp, representatives from the farmer producer organization of each development block in Jashpur district will be present. Farmers who have not yet joined any farmer producer organization can obtain detailed information from the representatives present at the camp and apply for membership. By joining the farmer producer organization, farmers can not only benefit from modern agricultural technology, group marketing, and collective purchasing and selling but also take an important step towards doubling their income.
