Chief Minister attended the Thakur Joharni program held in Narharpur: Gave various gifts to the locals
Raipur / Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today attended the Thakur Joharni program organized by the tribal community in Narharpur, Kanker district. Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Shri Arjun Munda, was also present with him on this occasion.
Chief Minister Shri Sai offered prayers to the deities of the tribal community at the Thakur Joharni program and wished for the well-being, prosperity, and happiness of the people of the state. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that while prioritizing tribal development in the new industrial policy, special focus has been given to Sarguja including Bastar, so that the residents here can be connected with employment and self-employment and they can be given maximum benefits. In this program organized at the open sports ground of Block headquarters Narharpur, Chief Minister Shri Sai, while chanting the slogans of the deities of the tribal community, congratulated the present people for Thakur Joharni and Navakhai. He said that this unique tradition of the tribal community should continue to live on and the unity of the society should always be maintained.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that new education policy has been implemented throughout the state so that the youth of Chhattisgarh can move forward and become well-educated. He informed that national level higher educational institutions like IIT, IIM, Triple IIT are operating in the state, so that quality and employment-oriented education can be made available. Similarly, efforts for improvement are also being made continuously through institutions like Prayas and Eklavya. Tribal Youth Hostel is operating in Delhi and Nalanda complexes are being established across the state.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the security forces are continuously getting great successes in the campaign against Naxalism. He reiterated his resolve to eliminate Naxalism by March 31, 2026. He also informed that as per the intention of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the state government is working to connect people with employment-oriented activities like animal husbandry, poultry farming with the help of the National Dairy Development Board. He said that Atal Digital Seva Kendras are being established to increase the remuneration of tendu leaf collectors, distribution of Charanpaduka, Ramlala Darshan Yojana, and to bring transparency and ease in the gram panchayats. Through the central government’s PM Janman Yojana and Dharti Aba Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, continuous and overall development of the tribals is being implemented.
Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Shri Arjun Munda, who was present as the special guest, while addressing the program, said that this is our festival program. Tribals who live with water, forest, land and their traditions, folk dances, songs, mandar and mridang have their own unique identity. He said that while strengthening their roots, it is absolutely necessary to be aware of health, education and rights.
The program was also addressed by MP Shri Bhojraj Nag, Kanker MLA Shri Asharam Netam and Keshkal MLA Shri Neelkanth Tekam, along with Gondwana Samaj Divisional President Shri Sumer Singh Nag, District President Shri Rajesh Bhaskar and Shri Rajaram Todem.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai also made many announcements for the Narharpur area. These include the construction of Bagod Anicut at a cost of Rs 30 crore, Rs 30 crore for the establishment of a 132 KV electricity sub-station in Narharpur, Rs 20 lakh for Mawa Modol Library in Narharpur, Rs 20 lakh for the construction of Gondwana Community Hall in village Dhodrahapahar, establishment of mobile tower in Narharpur, Rs 80 lakh for the construction of a well-equipped rest house in Narharpur and a total of Rs 1 crore 20 lakh at the rate of Rs 10–10 lakh for the construction of 12 tin sheds in all 12 Muda areas of Gondwana Samaj of Narharpur development block. In addition to this, the announcement of necessary cooperation was also made for Jangoraytar English Medium School run by Gondwana Samaj in village Dhanesara.
