
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai presided over the virtual launch of the Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav in Tilsiwan, Surajpur district, inaugurating and laying the foundation for development projects exceeding 211 crore rupees. The event also featured the unveiling of a life-size statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the Atal Parisar within the new bus stand in Surajpur, along with the virtual inauguration of the Kisan Mela and Jaivik Mela.
Chief Minister Sai marked the 25th anniversary of Chhattisgarh’s founding, a period reflecting the state’s remarkable growth. He encouraged citizens to work together to achieve greater progress. He paid tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the architect of Chhattisgarh, recognizing his pivotal contribution to the state’s identity and his enduring influence on the youth. Sai noted Vajpayee’s political career, his poetic talent, and his dedication to national interests.
The Chief Minister detailed the state government’s achievements, emphasizing welfare programs introduced in the last 20 months. These initiatives included paddy procurement at Rs 3100 per quintal, the Mahtari Vandan Yojana providing Rs 1000 monthly to 70 lakh women, re-distribution of Charan Paduka to tendu leaf collectors, bonuses for farmers, financial aid of Rs 10,000 to landless agricultural laborers, the Ramlala Darshan Yojana, pilgrimage trips for the elderly, and the establishment of Atal Digital Seva Kendras.
Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, speaking remotely, praised the progress made by the state over the past 25 years, also congratulating everyone on the statue unveiling of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He noted the former Prime Minister’s role in creating Chhattisgarh and launching the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
Surajpur district benefited from 211.33 crore rupees in development projects. This included the inauguration of 37 completed projects worth 78.78 crore rupees, covering initiatives by the Public Works Department, Public Works Department (Bridge), Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Urban Body Department, Tribal Development Department, and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Additionally, the foundation stones were laid for 55 projects, valued at 132.55 crore rupees, involving departments like the Public Works Department, Public Works Department (Bridge), Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Water Resources Department Surajpur, Rural Engineering Service, Police Department, and Tribal Development Department.
