Chhattisgarh ke jamo bhai-bahini, laika, siyan, mahatari man la duno hath jodke Jai Johar!
Today, Chhattisgarh state has completed 25 years of its formation. On this occasion, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all the people of Chhattisgarh.
Brothers and sisters,
It is a matter of great fortune for me to be a participant along with the brothers and sisters of Chhattisgarh in the Silver Jubilee celebration of Chhattisgarh. You all know very well that I have seen the period before the formation of Chhattisgarh state as a worker of the Bharatiya Janata Party and have also been a witness to the journey of the last 25 years. Therefore, being a part of this glorious moment is also a wonderful feeling for me.
Friends,
We have completed a journey of 25 years. A period of 25 years has been completed, and today a new era is dawning for the next 25 years. Will you do one thing for me? Everyone tell me, will you do one thing for me? Will you? Take out your mobile phones, turn on the flashlights of your mobile phones, and this beginning of the sunrise for the next 25 years has started. Turn on the flashlight of every mobile phone in your hands. Look around, I see the sun of new dreams rising in your palms. I see the light of resolutions for a new era in your palms. This is the same light that is connected to your hard work, which is going to build your destiny.
Friends,
25 years ago, Atal ji’s government handed over the Chhattisgarh of your dreams to you. At the same time, it was also resolved that Chhattisgarh would touch new heights of development. Today, when I look at the journey of the past 25 years, my head swells with pride. All of you brothers and sisters of Chhattisgarh have achieved many accomplishments together. The seed sown 25 years ago has today become a banyan tree of development. Chhattisgarh is moving rapidly on the path of development today. Today, Chhattisgarh has also got a new temple of democracy, a new assembly building. Before coming here, I also had the opportunity to inaugurate the Tribal Museum. On this stage as well, schemes worth approximately 14 thousand crore rupees have been laid the foundation stone for and inaugurated. I congratulate all of you for all these development works.
Friends,
A whole generation has changed here since the year 2000. Today there is a whole generation of youth here who have not seen those old days before 2000. When Chhattisgarh was formed, it was difficult to reach the villages. At that time, there was no trace of roads in many villages. Now, today, the road network has reached 40 thousand kilometers in the villages of Chhattisgarh. In the last eleven years, there has been unprecedented expansion of National Highways in Chhattisgarh. New expressways are now becoming the new pride of Chhattisgarh. Earlier, it used to take many hours to reach Bilaspur from Raipur, now its time has also been reduced by half. Today, a new 4-lane highway has also been laid the foundation stone for here. This highway will further improve Chhattisgarh’s connectivity with Jharkhand.
Friends,
Extensive work has also been done for rail and air connectivity in Chhattisgarh. Today, fast trains like Vande Bharat run in Chhattisgarh. Cities like Raipur, Bilaspur, and Jagdalpur are now connected by direct flights. Once Chhattisgarh was known only for the export of raw materials. Today, Chhattisgarh is also emerging in a new role as an Industrial State.
Friends,
For whatever Chhattisgarh has achieved in the last 25 years, I congratulate every Chief Minister and every government. But a big credit goes to Dr. Raman Singh ji. He led Chhattisgarh when the state faced many challenges. I am happy that today he is guiding as the Speaker of the Assembly and Vishnu Deo Sai ji’s government is taking Chhattisgarh’s development forward at a fast pace.
Friends,
You know me very well. Even today, as I was coming out in the jeep, I saw many old faces, and it gave me great satisfaction. There is hardly any area where I have not visited, and therefore you also know me very well.
Friends,
I have seen poverty up close. I know what a poor person’s worries are, what a poor person’s helplessness is. Therefore, when the country gave me the opportunity to serve, I emphasized the welfare of the poor. Our government has focused a lot on the poor’s medicine, the poor’s earnings, the poor’s education, and the poor’s irrigation facilities. I will give you an example.
Friends,
25 years ago, there was only one medical college in this Chhattisgarh of ours. Today, there are 14 medical colleges in Chhattisgarh, and AIIMS in our Raipur. I remember that the campaign to build Ayushman Arogya Mandirs across the country also started from Chhattisgarh. Today, there are more than five and a half thousand Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in Chhattisgarh.
Friends,
Our effort is that the poor should live a life of dignity. The life of slums, of कच्चा houses, further disappoints and discourages the poor. They lose the courage to fight poverty. Therefore, our government has resolved to provide a pucca house to every poor person. In the last 11 years, 4 crore poor people have been given pucca houses. Now we are moving forward with the resolve to build three crore more new houses. Even today, more than three and a half lakh, more than three and a half lakh families in Chhattisgarh are entering their new homes simultaneously. An installment of Rs 1200 crore has also been released to about three lakh families.
Friends,
This shows how seriously the BJP government of Chhattisgarh is working to provide houses to the poor. In the last one year alone, seven lakh pucca houses for the poor have been built in this Chhattisgarh of ours. And this is not just a number, every house contains the dream of a family, immense happiness of a family. I extend my best wishes to all the beneficiary families.
Friends,
Our government is continuously working to make the lives of the people of Chhattisgarh easier and to reduce the difficulties in your lives. Today, electricity has reached every village of Chhattisgarh. Where electricity did not reach, today the times have changed, and now even the internet has reached there. Once, an LPG gas cylinder connection was a very big dream for a common family. When a gas cylinder used to come to one or two houses, people used to look from afar, thinking it must be a rich person’s house. When will it come to my house? For me, every family is a family fighting against poverty, and therefore, the Ujjwala gas cylinder has been delivered to their homes. Today, gas connections have reached the homes of the poor, Dalit, backward, and tribal families of Chhattisgarh. Now, our endeavor is to deliver cheap gas through pipes, just like water comes through pipes in the kitchen. Today itself, the Nagpur-Jharsuguda gas pipeline has been dedicated to the nation. I also congratulate the people of Chhattisgarh for this project.
Friends,
A large tribal population resides in Chhattisgarh. This is the tribal society which has a glorious history. It has made a great contribution to the heritage and development of India. We are continuously working so that the entire country and the world knows about the contribution of the tribal society. Whether it is to create a collection of tribal freedom fighters across the country, to build museums, or to declare the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda as Tribal Pride Day, our effort is that the contribution of the tribal society is always glorified.
Friends,
Today, in this series, we have taken another step. Today, the country has got the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Tribal Freedom Fighter Museum. It depicts the history of the struggles of the tribal society for more than one and a half hundred years before independence. Every nuance of how our tribal freedom fighters fought the freedom struggle is visible here. I have full confidence that this museum will continue to inspire future generations.
Friends,
Our government is on one hand conserving tribal heritage, and on the other hand, is also emphasizing the development and welfare of the tribals. The Dharti Aba Tribal Village Upliftment Campaign is bringing new light of development to thousands of tribal villages across the country. This is a scheme worth approximately eighty thousand crore rupees, eighty thousand crore! Work on this scale in tribal areas has never happened in independent India. Similarly, a national scheme has also been made for the first time for the development of the most backward tribes. Under the PM-JANMAN scheme, development works are being carried out in thousands of settlements of backward tribes.
Friends,
The tribal society has been collecting forest produce for generations. It is our government which, in the form of Van Dhan Kendras, has created opportunities for earning more from forest produce. Better arrangements have been made for the procurement of Tendu leaves, and today the Tendu leaf collectors in Chhattisgarh are also getting more money than before.
Friends,
I am also very happy today that today our Chhattisgarh is freeing itself from the chains of Naxalism-Maoist terrorism. What you have suffered for 50-55 years due to Naxalism is painful. Those who today pretend to hold the Constitution in their hands, those who shed crocodile tears in the name of social justice, have done injustice to you for decades for their political self-interest.
Friends,
Due to Maoist terrorism, the tribal areas of Chhattisgarh remained deprived of roads for a long time. Children did not get schools, the sick did not get hospitals, and whoever was there was blown up by bombs. Doctors and teachers were killed, and those who ruled the country for decades, leaving you to your fate, enjoyed their lives sitting in air-conditioned rooms.
Friends,
Modi could not let his tribal brothers and sisters be destroyed in this game of violence. I could not leave millions of mothers and sisters crying for their children. Therefore, when you gave us the opportunity in 2014, we resolved to free India from Maoist terrorism. And today the country is seeing its results. 11 years ago, 125 districts of the country were affected by Maoist terrorism, and now out of 125 districts, only, only three districts remain, where Maoist terrorism is still being tried to exert some influence, but I guarantee to the countrymen that the day is not far when our Chhattisgarh, our Hindustan, every corner of this Hindustan will be completely free from Maoist terrorism.
Friends,
Those companions of Chhattisgarh who had taken the path of violence are now rapidly laying down their arms. A few days ago, more than twenty Naxalites returned to the mainstream in Kanker. Before that, on October 17, more than 200 Naxalites surrendered in Bastar. In the last few months alone, dozens of people associated with Maoist terrorism have laid down their arms across the country. Many of them carried rewards of lakhs and crores of rupees. Now they have given up guns, laid down their arms, and accepted the Constitution of the country.
Friends,
The end of Maoist terrorism has made the impossible possible. Where there was once fear of bombs and guns, the situation has changed. Electricity reached Chilkapalli village in Bijapur for the first time in seven decades. School construction work started in Rekavaya village of Abujhmad for the first time after independence. And Purvarti village, once called a stronghold of terrorism, is now buzzing with development work. Now, our tricolor proudly waves in place of the red flag. Today, in areas like Bastar, there is an atmosphere of celebration, not fear. Events like Bastar Pandum and Bastar Olympics are being organized there.
Friends,
Can you imagine, when we have progressed so much in the last 25 years with challenges like Naxalism, how much faster our pace will become after the elimination of this challenge?
Friends,
The coming years are very important for Chhattisgarh. We have to build a developed India, for which it is very important for Chhattisgarh to be developed. I will tell the youth of Chhattisgarh that this is the time, young friends, this is the time, this time is yours. There is no goal that you cannot achieve. I assure you, this is Modi’s guarantee, Modi stands with you at every step, with every resolution. Together, we will take Chhattisgarh forward, we will take the country forward. With this belief, once again, I extend my best wishes to every sister and brother of Chhattisgarh. Thank you very much. Now, with full strength, say with me, raise both your hands and say, Bharat Mata Ki Jai! Bharat Mata Ki Jai! Bharat Mata Ki Jai! Bharat Mata Ki Jai! Bharat Mata Ki Jai! Thank you very much!
