
The Helping Hands Club Foundation hosted ‘Rakhi with Rakshak, Dori Prem Ka,’ a special Raksha Bandhan event at the Police Parade Ground, Civil Lines, Raipur. The event was attended by soldiers from the BSF, ITBP, Chhattisgarh Police, Central Forces, and Odisha. Women tied rakhis on the soldiers’ wrists to show gratitude and love. The women emotionally said, “When you are awake, we can sleep in peace. We are safe because of your duty.” Dr. Lal Umed of the Helping Hands Club Foundation explained that soldiers are away from their families due to their duty. He also mentioned that the soldiers help everyone to celebrate festivals safely. He mentioned that the soldiers miss their homes. He highlighted the need to focus on increasing issues like cybercrime and substance abuse, adding that vigilance and caution are important for safety. IPS Rajesh Kukreja said that Helping Hands honored the entire police family of India by tying rakhis to the soldiers. He added that they are responsible for the safety of every sister. He appreciated the initiative of Helping Hands and mentioned that it is special for those soldiers who don’t have sisters. Manoj Goyal, the patron of Helping Hands, said that their goal is to celebrate Raksha Bandhan with their soldier brothers who are away from home for their safety. He noted that last year’s event was successful, and this year it is being celebrated with greater grandeur. Their motto is, ‘Service to humanity is service to God.’ Babita Agarwal, president of the women’s wing, said that the smile on the faces of the soldiers when they tie the rakhis gives them peace. They try to ensure the soldiers don’t miss their sisters or feel homesick. Discussions were also focused on cybercrime and substance abuse. Dr. Lal Umed requested the women to be vigilant. This event celebrated Raksha Bandhan and conveyed a message of safety and awareness.
