A CAF (Chhattisgarh Armed Force) constable has been arrested following a horrific incident in Korba, where he shot and killed his uncle-in-law and sister-in-law. The shooting took place at their residence in Umedi Bhantha, under the Hardi Bazaar police station area. The constable, who was assigned to protect the Bango Dam, arrived at his in-laws’ house directly from his duty and opened fire using his service rifle. The uncle-in-law and his daughter were killed instantly. The sound of gunfire caused widespread panic, and people scattered in fear. The constable attempted to flee the scene but was quickly apprehended by the police. It has been revealed that the constable had divorced his wife some years ago, which led to ongoing disputes between the two families. It’s understood that the stress and acrimony surrounding the divorce may have fueled the violent act at the in-laws’ residence.
