The contribution of tribal heroes to the nation’s freedom struggle is unique- Chief Minister Shri Sai. Martyr Gand Singh Naik delivered the first bell of the freedom movement. Chief Minister Shri Sai attended the power day festival of the Halba-Halbi community. Several announcements were made, including the inauguration of the newly built community office. Raipur, 27 December 2025. Along with the freedom movement, the unique contribution of tribal heroes and great personalities to the renewal of nation and society is evident. The honoured martyr Gand Singh Naik of the Halba, Halbi and tribal societies, who is a source of pride for all of India, gave the first bell of the freedom movement in our country. Today, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai addressed the 35th gathering and power day celebration organized by the All India Halba-Halbi society at the Halba Power Site in Gokul Nagar, the district headquarters of Durg. He also inaugurated the newly built office of the Halba-Halbi society on this occasion. He announced the approval of 5 million rupees for residential coaching facilities at the power site for young men and women of the Halba society preparing for competitive examinations, and 2.5 million rupees for the construction of a boundary wall at the social building of the Konwar society in Pulgaon, Durg. On this occasion, he also released the community magazine ’Samaj’. He further said that the freedom movement in Chhattisgarh state and the whole country was first initiated by tribal leaders. Martyr Veer Narayan Singh, Martyr Gand Singh Naik, along with tribal leaders and patriots, made a total of 14 bell calls against the English. He said that former Prime Minister Sw. Vajpayee had first formed the Central Tribal Office Ministry for the upliftment and development of tribal classes. On the initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, a massive tribal museum was built in Raipur to acquaint the new generation with the contributions and immortal legends of tribal leaders and heroic sons, and also to protect and promote them. Chief Minister said that in two years, our government prioritized most of PM Modi’s guarantees. Approximately 7 million women in the state benefit from the Mahatari Vandan plan, tubers collectors receive 5,500 rupees per standard drum payment, and farmers are paid 3,100 rupees per quintal for rice. More than 26 million families have received approval for the Prime Minister’s Housing scheme. In the state, Naxalism is counting its last breath. Through the Niyad Nellnar plan, development work is rapidly progressing in more than 400 villages. The Chhattisgarh Government is also working continuously to build a developed Chhattisgarh state by 2047 and become a leading state in the entire country. The program was addressed by MP Shri Vijay Baghel and former Minister Shri Mahesh Gagda, as well as the provincial president of the Halba-Halbi society Shri Khaleendra. On this occasion, the Deputy Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Backward Classes Commission Shri Lalit Chandraikar, officers of the All India Halba-Halbi society, and a large number of community members were present.
