The weather department predicts rain throughout today in the capital, expecting light to moderate showers.
Most of Delhi-NCR will remain cloudy. Showers accompanied by thunderstorms are anticipated in the afternoon, with a possibility of intensification by evening. According to the weather department, August 15th will likely have a cloudy sky, with chances of rain or thunderstorms. The rainfall in Delhi is expected to continue until August 19th.
Several districts in Uttar Pradesh have been issued a heavy rainfall alert by the weather department. Heavy rain is forecasted for western UP today. The possibility of lightning strikes exists in multiple districts. Monsoon activity is predicted to increase over the next two days, bringing light to moderate rainfall across most of the state, with a chance of heavy to very heavy downpours in some areas.
Bihar is under the influence of active monsoon conditions, with heavy rainfall occurring in Patna and other districts on Wednesday. The weather department states that the weather in the state is unlikely to change over the next few days. Partial or heavy rainfall is expected in various districts, with the likelihood of thunderstorms.
A low-pressure area is present over west-central India and the adjacent north-west Bay of Bengal, off the coasts of northern Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha. The weather department forecasts heavy to very heavy rainfall for Odisha, Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, and Telangana from August 14th to 17th. Extremely heavy rainfall is anticipated in Yanam today.
In Uttarakhand, the weather is not expected to improve today, with a red alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall issued. Bageshwar, Champawat, Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital, Pauri, Tehri, and Udham Singh Nagar may experience very heavy rainfall. Himachal Pradesh is also under heavy rainfall, with the weather department issuing an alert for light to heavy rain over the next six to seven days. An orange alert is in effect for Shimla, Kangra, Mandi, Sirmaur, and Chamba. Jammu and Kashmir will experience rain until August 18th, with heavy rain expected today and tomorrow.
