The Congress party, represented by Pawan Khera, has leveled serious accusations against Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, claiming that his ethanol policy is riddled with corruption and causing harm to both vehicles and the environment. The core allegation centers on the claim that Gadkari’s sons are benefiting financially from the policy while it fails to deliver on its promises.
Khera specifically highlighted Nikhil Gadkari’s company’s substantial revenue growth. He also pointed to the damage caused to vehicle engines by ethanol blends, the lack of benefit to farmers, and the environmental impact of ethanol production. Khera also criticized the use of Russian crude oil, suggesting it is being funneled to benefit specific individuals, and the subsequent mixing of ethanol for profit. He said the government is now promoting E30, despite concerns about vehicle performance, alleging that Gadkari dismisses these concerns.
