The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Goa Medical College and Hospital, Dr. Rudresh Kuttikar, is dissatisfied with the apology issued by State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane and has demanded a public apology. The CMO wants the apology delivered in the casualty department where the incident originally occurred. Furthermore, the Goa Association of Resident Doctors (GARD) has indicated that they might go on strike if the minister does not comply with the demand.
The incident involved a request for a B12 injection for a patient’s relative, which the CMO stated was not for an emergency. Kuttikar has characterized the minister’s apology as a ‘studio apology’ and wants the apology to receive the same level of publicity as the initial incident. The health minister had previously apologized on social media, expressing regret for his actions and noting that the issue was being unnecessarily politicized.
