Jagadguru Swami Ramabhadracharya has once again found himself at the center of controversy following his statements made during a Ramkatha in Meerut. He claimed that Hindu women are revered as goddesses, unlike women in other religions who are called ‘baby’ or ‘wife’. He criticized Islamic practices, alleging mistreatment of women and referencing practices like multiple childbirths followed by divorce. He contrasted this with the Hindu tradition of honoring mothers. Ramabhadracharya also voiced his opinions on education, encouraging parents to favor schools that promote cultural values over convent schools. He emphasized the need for children to be raised with strong values. He also addressed the issue of women’s reservation in Parliament, stating that women should have more rights and that the high status of women in society is rooted in Hinduism. These remarks have generated significant debate and discussion.
