
Punjab Police, along with central agencies, has achieved a significant success by bringing back Parminder Singh, also known as Pindi, a Khalistani terrorist linked to the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) group, from Abu Dhabi. Pindi is associated with the gang of Harwinder Singh (Rinda) and Happy Passia, Khalistan supporters who are currently hiding in Pakistan. He was a wanted individual in Punjab, implicated in serious offenses such as petrol pump attacks and extortion.
A Punjab Police team, with the support of the Union Ministry of External Affairs and UAE authorities, went to the UAE on September 24 to facilitate the extradition. The DGP of Punjab Police expressed appreciation for the support provided by the Union Ministry of External Affairs, the UAE government, and India’s central agencies for the successful extradition.
In a tweet, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav shared details of the operation, stating that in a historic move, Punjab Police, in close coordination with central agencies, extradited Parminder Singh alias Pindi, a terrorist from Babbar Khalsa International, from Abu Dhabi. Pindi is a close associate of foreign terrorist Harwinder Singh alias Rinda, and Happy Passia and was involved in numerous heinous crimes, including petrol bomb attacks, violent assaults, and extortion in the Batala region.
He further added that acting on the Red Corner Notice (RCN) from Batala Police, a four-member team led by a senior police officer visited the United Arab Emirates on September 24. They collaborated with the Ministry of External Affairs and UAE officials to finalize all legal procedures, successfully bringing the terrorist back to face justice. This successful extradition emphasizes the Punjab Police’s strong stance against terrorism and organized crime, in addition to its advanced investigative capabilities and global reach. He conveyed gratitude for the invaluable cooperation from central agencies, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), and the UAE government for their assistance in this joint effort to maintain justice and strengthen national security.
