In a significant move against terrorism, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have launched a search operation targeting multiple locations, including Srinagar. The Counter-Intelligence Wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police is spearheading the raids. Authorities have confirmed that the Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) is searching eight different locations in the valley as part of an ongoing investigation into a terrorism-related case. The districts affected include Srinagar, Baramulla, Anantnag, Kupwara, Handwara, Pulwama, and Shopian. These raids were authorized by a court order and are connected to FIR number 3/2023.
This is not the first time such operations have been carried out by the Counter-Intelligence Wing. In July, similar searches were conducted at multiple locations. The police and army in Jammu and Kashmir have been actively working to neutralize terrorist elements. They have thwarted numerous attempts at infiltration and conducted several search operations across the valley.
The police are investigating the individuals’ connections and basing their raids on their activities. Previous operations have indicated links to terrorists, including Abdullah Ghazi, who is associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba/Jaish-e-Mohammed.
Concurrently, the Udhampur police conducted a major raid on a spa center. Several individuals, both men and women, were apprehended during the operation. The raid was carried out at a spa center located in Ward Number 5, Badia, Udhampur. The operation lasted approximately four hours and involved a substantial police presence, including senior officials. A detailed investigation has been initiated. The local community has expressed support for the police’s actions.
