
The central government hosted a special event in Delhi to mark the centennial of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Prime Minister Modi unveiled a commemorative postage stamp and a 100-rupee coin. Before this, Dattatreya Hosabale, the RSS Sarkaryavah, addressed the gathering, reflecting on the RSS’s journey of the past 100 years.
Hosabale acknowledged the government’s role in the event. He attended as an RSS representative and expressed his gratitude for the program. He highlighted the upcoming Vijayadashami, which marked the RSS’s entry into its 101st year. The government’s decision to release a stamp and coin was seen as a recognition of the RSS’s centenary, celebrated by all. He conveyed thanks to the Government of India on behalf of RSS workers worldwide.
He stated the importance of honoring those who work for society, as the Indian government does. He mentioned the presence of RSS volunteers across the country, the organization’s expansion, and societal recognition of its work. The efforts of the RSS have been facilitated by volunteers, with society observing their contributions.
Hosabale described the RSS’s 100-year journey as intriguing, emphasizing the RSS’s dedication to an ideal. Today, the RSS is recognized for its patriotism and service to the nation. He spoke of the dedication of RSS volunteers to society, remembering the countless volunteers and workers. The RSS aims for nation-building through individual development and the organization of society. The RSS has faced challenges, adapting its strategies based on circumstances.
He stressed the need for Indians to dedicate themselves to India and contribute to the world, which is a duty for every citizen. This national duty must be awakened. The RSS focuses on connecting individuals with society. Such individuals become part of the nation.
He added that the country demands not only taking but also giving. This duty should be performed without expecting rewards. The RSS does not oppose any group, but rather, includes all sections of society. For the RSS, the nation is paramount, and it should be for every citizen. RSS volunteers are always at the ready to serve during any crisis.
