The Delhi High Court has denied bail to Kashmiri separatist leader Shabir Ahmad Shah, concluding that the evidence strongly suggests the allegations against him are likely true. The court emphasized the presence of significant evidence supporting the charges. Shah has been in custody since 2019, arrested in a terror funding case initiated by the NIA in 2017. The court noted that Shah, as chairman of JKDPF, could not rule out his involvement in unlawful activities. The division bench dismissed Shah’s bail application. The High Court considered Shah’s position as chairman of an unlawful organization and its potential impact on witnesses. The High Court’s decision to deny bail upheld the earlier decision of the trial court.
