
The opposition’s protest against purported vote irregularities, particularly concerning the Congress, escalated when Akhilesh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party leader, physically bypassed police barriers. During the march to the Election Commission office, Yadav encountered police resistance. Despite the attempts to stop him, Yadav climbed over a barricade, continuing his participation in the demonstration. Following his action, Yadav staged a sit-in protest, denouncing the government’s alleged use of the police to disrupt the march. He voiced his criticism of the Election Commission, alleging a reluctance to address legitimate concerns. Prominent figures such as Rahul Gandhi, along with other leaders from diverse political parties, were part of the demonstration and chanted slogans in protest.
