
Following the disaster on August 5, 2025, in the Dharali-Uttarkashi and Harsil regions, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took decisive action. He immediately instructed officials to begin rescue and relief operations. The district administration, in collaboration with various agencies, launched rescue efforts. The Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Home Affairs were kept informed.
On the evening of August 5, 2025, the Chief Minister arrived at the State Emergency Operations Center in Dehradun to assess the situation. He received assurances of support from Union Home Minister Amit Shah. By the evening of August 5, over 130 people had been rescued. The Chief Minister directed the provision of food and accommodation for those affected.
