In a heartwarming appeal for the upcoming Diwali 2025 celebrations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has encouraged all citizens to make a conscious choice to support Indian businesses. His message, “Garv Se Kaho Yeh Swadeshi Hai” (Proudly say, this is indigenous), celebrates the hard work and ingenuity of the 140 crore people of India. This push aligns perfectly with the ongoing ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign, aiming to significantly boost domestic production and foster economic self-reliance.
The Prime Minister urged individuals to prioritize buying products manufactured within India, thereby providing a crucial lifeline to local entrepreneurs and small-scale industries. He further suggested that sharing these purchases on social media platforms would inspire others to participate, creating a collective movement towards supporting indigenous goods. This digital outreach aims to maximize the campaign’s impact and create a widespread cultural shift.
Adding a significant boost, several well-known figures from the Indian entertainment industry have actively endorsed the campaign. Celebrities including Madhuri Dixit, Varun Dhawan, Triptii Dimri, Sunil Grover, Rupali Ganguly, and Shankar Mahadevan are featured in a special video. They are drawing attention to various local businesses, from traditional textile sellers in Kolkata to handicraft artisans, emphasizing the importance of patronizing local vendors to spread festive cheer and economic vitality.
