Investigators are examining the possibility of dual engine failure as the cause of the Air India AI 171 crash near Ahmedabad, which claimed the lives of all 242 people on board. A test flight simulation, designed to replicate the circumstances of the flight, has indicated that flight conditions alone are unlikely to have caused the accident. The simulation, conducted by Air India pilots, revealed that the position of landing gear and wing flaps at the time of the crash were not the sole cause. This has led to a focus on the potential for a technical malfunction, specifically dual engine failure. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau is conducting a thorough investigation, with a preliminary report of findings expected to be released in the near future. The Boeing 787 aircraft, bound for London, crashed shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad airport on June 12.
