The political landscape of Bihar is currently dominated by the unsolved murder of Dularchand Yadav, a prominent local figure in the Mokama constituency. Yadav, who had previously navigated alliances with prominent leaders like Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar, was tragically killed by a vehicle during election campaigning. While the police have taken Anant Singh, a former gangster now involved in politics, into custody, multiple theories about the motive and perpetrators continue to circulate. Speculation is rife, with Anant Singh, Surajbhan Singh, and even Piyush Priyadarshi—the candidate Yadav was supporting—being named in connection with the crime. These conspiracy theories are spreading rapidly, overshadowing the official police investigation. Mokama is renowned for its politically charged environment, often influenced by powerful local personalities. In the current election, Anant Singh is a candidate for the JD(U), while the RJD has put forth Surajbhan Singh’s wife, Veena Devi, and Piyush Priyadarshi is running for the Jan Suraaj party. Dularchand Yadav was a respected and feared individual in the Tal area of Mokama, known for his influence. His endorsement of Jan Suraaj was a significant asset due to his strong hold over Yadav votes. His demise on October 30th, with injuries consistent with being run over, has left the community reeling and searching for answers.
