In preparation for the traditional Shraadh ceremony honoring the late Dishom Guru Shibu Soren, former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and Rajya Sabha MP, Chief Minister Hemant Soren is personally overseeing the arrangements. He took an e-rickshaw to tour the site and ensure all preparations are proceeding smoothly.
Following his father’s passing, Hemant Soren has been staying in his ancestral village, Nemra, for the last ten days, observing the traditional Shraadh rituals. During his inspection, he visited each pandal to examine the various arrangements. He instructed officials to prioritize security, cleanliness, water supply, parking facilities, seating, and toilet provisions for the attendees. He also emphasized the importance of a well-managed traffic flow to prevent any inconvenience.
The village is bustling with activity, with decorations, cleaning, and organizational efforts underway from the streets to the puja sites. Family members, relatives, and villagers from distant areas are actively participating in the preparations, adhering to traditional rituals and local customs. To ease transportation, over 300 e-rickshaws will be available to transport people from parking areas to the ceremony venue. Furthermore, three large parking lots have been constructed.
Each parking lot will have bio-toilet facilities nearby. For pedestrians, shaded resting areas and pagodas will be available. The food arrangements include three large pandals capable of accommodating a large number of people. Local delicacies and traditional Prasad will be served. A large team of volunteers and cooks will be responsible for ensuring cleanliness and efficient service.
A police control room has been established for security and traffic management. The security detail includes 10 IPS officers, 60 DSPs, 65 inspectors, and approximately 2500 police personnel. The district administration is maintaining a high level of vigilance. Police, administrative, and volunteer teams will operate around the clock to manage traffic, provide emergency services, and control the crowd.
A special exhibition and memorial gallery will be set up to celebrate Guruji’s life. It will highlight his political contributions, his efforts for tribal upliftment, and his public service, featuring rare photographs, historical documents, and his accomplishments.
Shibu Soren passed away on August 4 in Delhi. His son, Hemant Soren, performed the final rites on August 5 in Nemra. The Shraadh feast is scheduled for August 16, expecting around 2 lakh attendees. Helipads have been arranged for VVIP guests, with security provided by IPS officers, DSPs, inspectors, and constables, supported by a large number of additional personnel.
