The Election Commission has called upon West Bengal’s Chief Secretary, Manoj Pant, to attend a meeting in Delhi on August 13, 2025, at 3 PM. The meeting centers around the issue of suspected irregularities in the voter registration process. In a previous order dated August 5, 2025, the EC instructed the suspension and filing of FIRs against specific officials for their involvement in adding names to voter lists unlawfully. The involved officials, including Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, and a data entry operator, are implicated in the Baruipur and Moyna constituency cases.
