Air India has made the decision to cancel eight flights across its network, affecting both international and domestic routes. The cancellations stem from increased maintenance work and operational reasons. This move comes after the airline previously revealed plans to reduce services operated by Boeing 787 and 777 aircraft. The reduction in services will take effect from June 21, 2025, and will continue until at least July 15, 2025. The affected international flights are: AI906 (Dubai to Chennai), AI2204 (Dubai to Hyderabad), AI308 (Delhi to Melbourne), and AI309 (Melbourne to Delhi). Domestically, the cancelled flights are: AI874 (Pune to Delhi), AI456 (Ahmedabad to Delhi), AI2872 (Hyderabad to Mumbai), and AI571 (Chennai to Mumbai). Air India explained that the cancellations are also related to voluntary enhanced pre-flight safety checks and additional flight durations due to airspace closures in the Middle East. The airline’s aim is to restore schedule stability and minimize inconvenience to passengers. There will be reduced flight frequency on several routes until July 15, 2025.
