The Ministry of Tribal Affairs is spearheading the Aadi Karmayogi campaign to empower tribal communities across India. This program plans to establish a network of over 2 million trained transformative leaders. These leaders will operate in more than 1 lakh tribal-dominant villages spread across 30 states and union territories, ensuring over 10.5 crore tribal citizens benefit from the initiative. The campaign focuses on crucial areas like improving education, health, nutrition, and livelihoods, along with preserving traditional cultural practices. A key objective is also to enhance collaboration with state institutions, fostering sustainable development at the rural level. The campaign recognizes that despite various development programs, tribal areas still lag in several key sectors. The goal is to ensure that development doesn’t come at the expense of cultural identity, actively working towards the documentation and preservation of tribal languages, traditional medicine, and art forms.
