In response to alleged links between Al-Falah University and an extremist module connected to the recent Delhi Red Fort blast, the Faridabad Police have established a Special Investigation Team (SIT). This local police effort will work alongside ongoing national agency investigations, with a specific focus on determining how the accused managed to operate from the university for a prolonged period undetected. The SIT, composed of two Assistant Commissioners of Police, an inspector, and two sub-inspectors, has commenced a detailed analysis of the university’s internal processes, financial transactions, and any potential enabling environments. The team’s mandate includes identifying the specific networks that facilitated the use of the campus by the accused doctor. Investigators are prioritizing an understanding of the procurement, storage, and transportation routes of the explosives used in the attack, tracing their journey from Faridabad to Delhi. The probe will also assess whether lapses in institutional oversight, procedural flaws, or external support were instrumental in the module remaining hidden for years. Faridabad Police Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta has directed the SIT to provide a thorough report on the university’s internal atmosphere that may have allowed the group to function covertly. Al-Falah University has been under intense scrutiny for several weeks, facing parallel investigations into alleged financial malpractices and fraudulent accreditation claims, in addition to its suspected ties to the terror incident.
