The search for terror networks connected to the Delhi blast has led investigators to a newly exposed safe house allegedly used by Dr. Muzammil, a suspect linked to the Faridabad terror module. The property, a rented dwelling in Khori Jamalpur village, was acquired by Muzammil using a cover story of being a Kashmiri fruit trader, according to findings from the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Confirmation of the rental came when the former sarpanch of Khori Jamalpur recognized Muzammil during an NIA-led investigation at the site. This finding aligns with a suspected pattern of Muzammil utilizing properties in semi-rural belts surrounding Faridabad and Mewat, strategically positioned near important transport routes and educational centers like Al-Falah University.
Reports from local residents and witnesses indicate that Muzammil made several trips to the Khori Jamalpur house, frequently accompanied by an associate identified as Shine Saeed. These recurring visits strongly suggest the location was used as a safe house or a vital operational base rather than for personal reasons, pointing towards its role in facilitating the wider terror plot.
Furthermore, intelligence indicates an earlier temporary storage of explosives. For approximately 12 days, a room in agricultural fields near Al-Falah University was used to conceal the explosive consignment before it was moved to Fatehpur Taga. Investigators believe Muzammil personally handled the transportation of these explosives to this field room, showcasing his direct management of logistics. The investigation is also delving into local complicity, specifically the role of Imam Ishtiaq, who has been apprehended, in assisting with the storage of these dangerous materials. The NIA is working to determine the full extent of his support and its implications for the conspiracy.
