
A significant demonstration unfolded in Patna, the capital of Bihar, as farmers protested against alleged malpractices in the state’s development projects. The farmers claimed the government was undervaluing their land during acquisition. The protest was spearheaded by Sudhakar Singh, an RJD MP from Buxar, and drew thousands of participants. The farmers specifically cited the disparity between the compensation they received and the provisions of the 2013 Land Acquisition Act, alleging that they were being paid at 2010 rates. The protest, organized by the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha, commenced at Patna’s Buddha Park. The farmers also voiced their opposition to the NH-319A project, proposing an alternate route to preserve their agricultural land.
Rajesh Ram, the Bihar Pradesh Congress President, used the opportunity to criticize the BJP, claiming that the Congress’s voter rights campaign had exposed the BJP’s alleged tactics. He stated that the public’s response showed a preference for the Congress. Dr. Santosh Suman of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) expressed his opinion that Rahul Gandhi’s efforts were destined to fail in Bihar.
CPM-ML leader Dipankar Bhattacharya raised concerns regarding the voter list revision process, especially the limited time available. The NDA organized worker conferences across various assembly constituencies. JDU leaders highlighted the accomplishments of the current government and criticized the opposition.
In different assembly constituencies, NDA leaders addressed worker conferences. BJP leaders such as Dr. Dilip Jaiswal spoke at Ujiarpur. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha spoke in Bochaha. Nityanand Rai addressed workers in Chanpatia, Sanjay Jaiswal in Amanour, Mangal Pandey in Jamui, and Giriraj Singh in Banmankhi. The speakers emphasized the NDA’s dedication to the development of Bihar.
