In anticipation of the 2025 Navratri festival, IRCTC has launched a specialized Falahari menu for train passengers who are observing fasting. This initiative is aimed at making travel easier and more convenient for those with dietary restrictions during the festival.
The menu includes a diverse selection of Satvik and Falahari foods, such as jeera aloo, aloo tikki, sabudana khichdi, sabudana vada, malai barfi, lassi, dry-roasted fox nuts, fasting vegetables, roasted peanuts, and plain curd. Passengers can pre-order their meals via the IRCTC e-catering website or the mobile app, choosing to pay online or upon delivery. These meals will be delivered to passenger berths at specified stations, with prices ranging from 100 to 200.
Simultaneously, the Railway Board has mandated the provision of larger 1-liter Rail Neer bottles on all Vande Bharat trains. This decision, replacing the smaller 500ml bottles, is intended to enhance passenger comfort and is currently implemented on all Vande Bharat routes, including the new Bhopal-Rani Kamalapati to Hazrat Nizamuddin route via Gwalior and the new Khajuraho Vande Bharat.
