A tragic event in Faridabad, Haryana, resulted in the death of five individuals after a father jumped in front of a train with his four children. The incident occurred on Tuesday and involved 45-year-old Manoj Mahato, who was from Bihar. The motive behind the suicide is believed to be a disagreement with his wife. The father left home that morning after an argument, informing his wife that he was taking their children to a park. He then offered his children cold drinks and chips before bringing them to the railway tracks. Reports indicate that the children struggled to escape their father’s grip as he held them tightly before the train arrived. The incident occurred near the Ballabgarh station at approximately 12:55 pm. The Golden Temple Express train was approaching when Mahato was seen walking along the tracks with his four children. He was holding the hands of two children while carrying the others on his shoulders. Despite repeated warnings from the train’s horn, he stood his ground and jumped. The deceased children were identified as Murli (5), Chotu (3), Pawan (10), and Karu (9). Police found a note with the wife’s phone number in the father’s pocket, and preliminary investigations point towards marital discord and suspected infidelity as the cause of the suicide.
