
In the wake of severe flooding, the Punjab government has taken decisive action, rescuing 4,711 individuals in the past day. Evacuees came from Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Moga, Tarn Taran, Barnala, and Fazilka. Rescue operations have successfully saved 11,330 people across nine districts. Relief camps are providing shelter for 4,729 people. The administration is ensuring that the essential needs of those in the camps are met. Relief supplies are regularly provided in various districts. The NDRF, SDRF, Punjab Police, Army, BSF, and Air Force are all actively involved in the rescue and relief operations, working alongside local communities. The floods have caused widespread damage, affecting over a thousand villages and leading to significant crop and livestock losses. Substantial areas of farmland have been impacted, resulting in considerable financial implications for the state.
