Punjab Police successfully disrupted a major cross-border heroin smuggling operation with links to Pakistan, arresting four individuals. The counter-intelligence wing of Amritsar police conducted a strategic operation near the Indo-Pak border in Attari, resulting in the seizure of 4 kg of heroin. The suspects were caught in the act of transporting the drugs. Prior investigations by the Amritsar Police Commissionerate had uncovered another sophisticated heroin trafficking network. Key suspect Sarbjit aka Joban, communicating directly with a Pakistani smuggler, was arrested, leading to the arrest of additional suspects and the recovery of a total of 6.106 kg of heroin and two motorcycles. The police are dedicated to dismantling cross-border drug syndicates and combating narco-terrorism in Punjab. A First Information Report has been filed under the NDPS Act.
