
The city of Gaya in Bihar is preparing for a major infrastructure push as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit on August 22nd. The visit is centered around the inauguration of six projects and the laying of foundation stones for eight others, with a combined investment of Rs 13,000 crore. Key highlights include the inauguration of the six-lane Aunta-Simaria bridge over the Ganges, designed using expansion cable technique, and the four-lane Bakhtiyarpur-Mokama section of NH 31. The Buxar Thermal Power Plant and the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre are also part of the projects to be inaugurated. The foundation stone-laying ceremony will cover projects such as sewerage networks and STP projects, and the launch of the Amrit Bharat train and the Buddhist Circuit Train, connecting Vaishali to Koderma via Rajgir, Gaya Ji, further enhancing connectivity and accessibility to significant Buddhist sites.
