
Egypt is set to host a crucial international summit in Sharm el-Sheikh with the goal of ending the war in Gaza. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received an official invitation to this summit from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. Minister of State Kirti Vardhan Singh will attend on behalf of India, the Ministry of External Affairs has confirmed. The event is jointly chaired by former US President Donald Trump and President El-Sisi, drawing participation from over 20 world leaders. Among those expected are UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, and French President Emmanuel Macron. The summit seeks to solidify an agreement to cease hostilities in Gaza, enhance efforts for peace in the Middle East, and promote regional security and stability, reflecting a commitment to conflict resolution.
