
General Upendra Dwivedi, the Army Chief, completed a comprehensive security review in the Kashmir Valley. The review comes after Operation Sindoor, which followed a tragic terror attack in Pahalgam last month. The attack claimed the lives of 26 people, the majority of whom were tourists. During his visit, General Dwivedi focused on the security preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra 2025, stressing the importance of pilgrim safety. The Army chief received briefings on operational matters and the broader strategic situation. He also observed a demonstration showcasing the use of advanced technologies in military operations, designed to enhance decision-making, surveillance, and response capabilities. The Chinar Corps was lauded for its dedication to maintaining peace and stability through counter-terrorism operations and development initiatives. The Army Chief received detailed updates on the current security situation, including the number of terrorists operating in the valley and their current pressure and hiding locations. General Dwivedi highlighted the use of modern technology, including an anti-infiltration grid, to combat terrorism along the Line of Control. He was informed about advanced surveillance and patrolling in sensitive regions. Furthermore, Baramulla police arrested an individual in Pattan and seized materials including JK National Front posters and ammunition. Police investigations are ongoing.
