Commuters between Ghaziabad and Greater Noida can anticipate relief as the Shahberi Flyover project has been officially approved by the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA). The GDA has granted permission for the construction of a 200-meter-long ramp associated with the flyover, situated on land within Ghaziabad. The project promises to significantly alleviate traffic bottlenecks in Greater Noida West. The project had been temporarily delayed due to various clearance requirements. The Greater Noida administration has now started construction following the approval from the Ghaziabad administration. A DPR and EOI are expected to be released soon. Prior to the commencement of construction, a proposal will be submitted to the government to get the necessary budget approval, secure funding, and select a construction agency. A feasibility study, carried out by IIT Roorkee, examined the project’s feasibility, considering traffic flow, the length of the flyover, soil testing, and potential construction impediments. The flyover is designed to be more than 7.5 meters wide. The flyover’s strategic placement at the junction of Greater Noida, Noida, and Ghaziabad aims to address rising traffic problems in Greater Noida West. The project involves addressing a drainage channel in Crossing Republic, Ghaziabad, ensuring smooth traffic flow after exiting the flyover.
