
Ghaziabad witnessed a first as an all-women police team successfully conducted an encounter, leading to the arrest of a 22-year-old involved in multiple theft and robbery cases. The incident unfolded on Sunday night. Police officers initiated a check and attempted to stop Jitendra, a resident of Vijay Nagar, who subsequently attempted to flee. Ordered to surrender, Jitendra allegedly fired at the police, who returned fire and apprehended him. Senior Police Officer Upasana Pandey stated Jitendra’s involvement in numerous snatching, robbery, and vehicle theft incidents. During questioning, he admitted to stealing motorcycles, scooters, and snatching mobile phones and other items in the Delhi-NCR area. The police recovered a country-made pistol, ammunition, a stolen scooter, a mobile phone, and a tablet. The scooter had been reported stolen from Delhi, while the phone and tablet were reported stolen from the Crossing area of a police station.
