
London has once again captured the top spot in the 2025-26 world city rankings, extending its reign for the eleventh consecutive year. New York is the second most influential city, while Paris holds the third position. Resonance Consultancy, in collaboration with Ipsos, unveiled the report, which scrutinizes cities based on their prosperity, how much they are loved, and their liveability.
London’s consistent leadership is a testament to its high scores in these critical aspects, particularly its strong showing in lovability and liveability, solidifying its status as a premier destination for life and work.
The distinguished list of top 10 cities for 2025-26 comprises London, New York, Paris, Tokyo, Madrid, Singapore, Rome, Dubai, Berlin, and Barcelona. Asia’s presence is marked by Tokyo (4th) and Singapore (6th).
Notably, India’s dynamic tech capital, Bangalore, has achieved a remarkable 29th place globally, distinguishing itself as the highest-ranked Indian city. This achievement brings significant international recognition to the “Silicon Valley of India.” Further down the list, Mumbai is 40th, Delhi 54th, and Hyderabad 82nd.
The analysis covered more than 270 cities globally with populations over one million, examining diverse factors like education, cultural attractions, connectivity, entertainment, public safety, environmental cleanliness, and healthcare services. The ‘Place Power Score,’ based on the pillars of liveability, lovability, and prosperity, confirms London’s unparalleled global standing and Bangalore’s emergence as a significant international city.
