KOLKATA: The overall secretary of the West Bengal Vice-Chancellors’ Council on Saturday mentioned no convocation was once held at the campuses of the state universities within the remaining two years because of the pandemic, as Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar lamented that he was once no longer being invited to the ceremonies despite the fact that he was once the chancellor.
Noting that the state of universities in West Bengal was once worrisome, Dhankhar at a programme on Friday mentioned he was once not able to “sleep at evening” as a result of the placement.

Addressing the Nationwide Scholars’ Convocation of the Institute of Price Accountants of India, Dhankhar additionally raised worry over “unionism of the VCs” towards him, regarding the conferences that he had referred to as, which have been ducked by way of the vice-chancellors.
Bhattacharya, who’s the vice-chancellor of the College of North Bengal, mentioned, “There’s a mechanism for calling such conferences.”
