A temporary barrier has been put in place at the Ek Murti roundabout in Greater Noida West, utilizing Noida Police barriers and iron grills secured by ropes. Unfortunately, these barriers are frequently breached by passersby, allowing two-wheelers and e-rickshaws to pass through. This compromises the effectiveness of the diversion plan and leads to renewed congestion.
Traffic is being diverted from both sides of the roundabouts. At the Iteda roundabout, a section has been closed off using broken street light poles, large stones, and iron barriers. The permanent installation of barriers is expected to provide significant relief from traffic congestion. While temporary measures have yielded some improvement, the absence of permanent infrastructure hinders their overall impact.
Manish Kumar, a Greater Noida West resident, filed a complaint through the Chief Minister’s portal, requesting the implementation of permanent barriers to mitigate traffic congestion issues. Narottam Singh, Senior Manager of the Greater Noida Authority, stated that the temporary barriers were installed to ensure a smooth flow of traffic during the Kavad Yatra and that the installation of permanent barriers would be considered following the event.
