To tackle traffic congestion in the Shahberi area of Greater Noida West, the Greater Noida Authority has launched ‘Plan B.’ This plan focuses on closing illegal cuts and removing unauthorized ramps. Six illegal cuts have already been closed, and surveying for ramp removal is in progress. Demolition of the ramps is scheduled to begin soon, with the goal of easing traffic problems in Shahberi. Despite these measures, five illegal cuts are still open. These cuts are used by drivers traveling on the wrong side of the road, contributing to accidents and traffic jams. The authority has indicated that they may close these remaining cuts if necessary, depending on future requirements.
The Shahberi Marg, a 1.5-kilometer stretch from the Iteda intersection to the crossing, faces ongoing challenges. While the road has been widened, electric poles still impede traffic. The removal of these poles is underway. The authorities hope that the removal of these poles and illegal ramps will resolve traffic-related issues.
Prerna Singh, an Aceo with the Greater Noida Authority, has confirmed the completion of road widening work linking Ghaziabad and Greater Noida. She further stated that the traffic situation has improved and remaining issues are likely to be resolved soon.
