A marriage bureau scam in Andhra Pradesh resulted in a man being defrauded. The man, Karthik, paid four lakh rupees to a marriage bureau and subsequently married a woman. They lived together for 20 days before the woman left and did not come back. When Karthik tried to reach her and her associates, their phone numbers were out of service. Karthik reported the fraud to the police. The police used technology to investigate and arrested the woman and her accomplices. The incident took place in Muddatamagi village, Holagunda Mandal, Kurnool district. Karthik had seen videos of the marriage bureau in East Godavari district on social media and contacted them. The bureau introduced him to the woman, and after he gave the money, they married.
