The Vadsar area of Vadodara is facing a critical situation due to incessant heavy rains, causing the Vishwamitri River to overflow. This has resulted in the inundation of roads and isolation of residents in Koteshwar, Kansa Residency, and Samridhi Residency. Although the Municipal Commissioner advised residents to evacuate, many have chosen to stay put. The Municipal Corporation is actively engaged in providing essential relief, including food and water, to the stranded populace. The administration is maintaining a state of high alert, closely monitoring the river’s water levels. In a separate incident, the SDRF rescued nine people from the Sabarmati River, which had flooded near Danta. Gujarat has experienced a monsoon season with rainfall exceeding the average, with varying levels of precipitation across different regions.
