
The 82nd meeting of the Kurukshetra Development Board, chaired by Governor Bandaru Dattatreya and attended by Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, has unveiled ambitious plans for the city’s development. The government aims to elevate Kurukshetra’s cultural and spiritual status on the global stage. Among the key proposals are the construction of four information centers to aid tourists and pilgrims, improving the green spaces in the Jyotisar pilgrimage area, and integrating the Mahabharata theme through the design of gates, squares, and electric buses. The meeting also highlighted the completion of a survey identifying 18 new pilgrimage sites within the 48 Kos Kurukshetra area, in addition to the existing 164 sites. Key officials, including Chief Secretary Anurag Rastorgi and Home Department Secretary Dr. Sumita Mishra, were present at the meeting. Additional participants included Geeta Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj, Cabinet Minister Vipul Goyal, MLA Ashok Arora, and MP Naveen Jindal, who joined the discussions via video conference, emphasizing collaborative efforts for Kurukshetra’s progress.
