
Delhi faced significant disruption due to torrential rains, resulting in an accident where a man and his daughter were severely injured. A large tree in South Delhi’s Kalkaji area uprooted and fell on them. The incident, captured on CCTV, took place near Paras Chowk at approximately 9:50 AM, with the tree landing on a biker and two other vehicles. Bystanders and emergency services worked together to rescue those trapped. The victims were quickly transported to the AIIMS Trauma Centre via a CATS ambulance. Sudhir Kumar (50) and his daughter, Priya (22), are currently under medical care. In addition to the injuries, the fallen tree caused damage to nearby vehicles and blocked the road. The police responded swiftly, cutting the tree into smaller pieces to clear the area. The city has experienced widespread flooding and traffic congestion, with the Delhi Police issuing multiple traffic alerts and advisories. Delhi Airport also issued a passenger advisory, recommending the use of the Metro.
