Vipin Raghuvanshi, brother of the late Raja Raghuvanshi, has called for a CBI investigation into the murder of his brother, which took place during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. He alleges that a leaked phone conversation raises serious questions about the involvement of Sonam Raghuvanshi’s family in the crime. According to the police, Sonam planned the murder with her lover, Raj Kushwaha, and three others, with Raja’s body being found in a ravine in Sohra on June 2. Vipin has expressed concerns about the Meghalaya police’s investigation, particularly the bail granted to several co-accused. He also mentions an unconfirmed report of Sonam speaking with her family from jail, which her family denies. Vipin accuses Sonam’s family of being involved in the bail process. Recently, the East Khasi Hills Court granted bail to Silom James, who was accused of evidence tampering and sheltering Sonam and Raj. Earlier, Lokendra Singh Tomar and Balbir Ahirwa also received bail. Sonam, Raj Kushwaha, and the three alleged killers remain in judicial custody.
