The IMD has announced a concerning weather forecast for several Indian states. A severe heatwave is expected to grip West Rajasthan from June 10th to 13th, with temperatures already soaring above 40°C in many areas, including Delhi/NCR. Heatwave conditions are also likely to persist in Jammu-Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, and north Madhya Pradesh. Simultaneously, the northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are facing heavy rainfall, leading to waterlogging. The IMD has forecast the continuation of intense downpours in these regions. Uttarakhand is also anticipated to experience torrential rains, impacting daily life until June 15th. The Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, and Odisha are also under a weather watch, with thunderstorms and rain expected on specific dates.
